Appointments & Cancellation Policy
We require a deposit from patients to be able to confirm your appointment. This allows us to allocate the appropriate care and practice resources to enhance your dental experience. This is usually 50% of the appointment cost. We do also offer a range of finance option to assist patients with this.
We will only cancel or delay your appointment in unavoidable circumstances.
In such cases, we will take the following steps:
You will be contacted as soon as the practice is aware of the need to cancel or delay the appointment.
We will explain the reason for the cancellation or delay
At the time of contact, you will be offered a new appointment at the earliest time available
If you are unable to commit to a new appointment during that contact, we will request that you to get in touch at a later time, when we will offer you a priority appointment
Cancellation of an appointment or missed appointments by patients
You are requested to give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel a dental appointment.
Cancellations should be made by telephone.
Late cancellations and missed appointments may represent a cost to the practice, when other patients could have been seen in the time set aside for the patient.
If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, then the deposit for this missed or cancelled appointment will be retained by the practice, if no deposit has been paid then a charge of £1 per minute of the appointment time will be taken and no further appointments will be made until this has been settled.
We understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable due to illness or emergencies and we will take account of all valid circumstances. Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment decisions by a patient should be made in writing to our practice manager.
For denplan care patients who miss an appointment without any notification with us, this may entail having to pay an additional charge for dental assessments and hygiene appointments.
