Tooth Whitening

It’s only natural for teeth to lose their natural shine over time

But it doesn’t need to be the end of the world. At Oaks Dental Practice, we provide a variety of tooth whitening services for patients in Ruislip, Hillingdon and the surrounding area to give you the confidence to smile again.

What causes

Teeth to Become Discoloured?

Teeth lose their natural whiteness for all kinds of reasons. Certain drinks, such as tea, coffee, and red wine, can discolour your teeth, as can smoking. Often, our teeth become discoloured as we age and there’s little we can do to prevent that.

Teeth Whitening Treatments in Ruislip

At Oaks Dental Practice, we have helped thousands of patients from across the Hillingdon area to reclaim their smile. We offer a range of professional teeth whitening treatments, suitable for most circumstances. These are some of our most popular ones…

Tooth Whitening at Oaks Dental Practice

Our in-house tooth whitening solution works much faster than a take-home kit. One of our dental practitioners will apply the whitening gel, which they then activate with a blue light. This quick and easy process results in brighter, whiter teeth in as little as an hour.

Tooth Whitening at Home

Tooth whitening is something you can do at home with the right tools for the job. We provide you with a professional tooth whitening kit (including a whitening gel and trays) and instructions on how to use it. This at-home solution is worn overnight and gradually whitens your teeth over the course of a few weeks.

Internal Tooth Whitening

If your teeth have suffered internal damage, perhaps as the result of root canal surgery or other invasive treatment, you may not be able to whiten them using the processes listed above. This type of discolouration needs to be treated with an insertion of whitening gel inside the tooth itself. It’s a more drawn-out procedure than external tooth whitening, requiring two or three applications about a week or so apart.

Is tooth whitening right for me?

Tooth whitening is only suitable for adults over the age of 18, whose teeth and gums are otherwise in a healthy condition. We do not recommend tooth whitening treatments for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you have any concerns regarding the process, your dentist will discuss them with you during your initial consultation.
